AITTA: Recycled log in Ainola

These logs once belonged to the Jaala Youth Association Hall, a large log building extended in 1926 to include a grand assembly hall and stage – a space that served as the heart of its community for generations. When the building was dismantled in 2004 and moved to the Huhdasjärvi Museum site, the century-old logs of the extension were carefully stored, waiting for their next chapter.

Two decades later, those same logs have been reborn as AITTA benches – strong, timeless pieces designed for outdoor use. The material’s texture still bears traces of its history: nail marks, weathered tones, and the quiet dignity that only time can create.
