Suvilahti, Pilot Green
In collaboration with our eco-enthusiast partners, Nomaji Landscape Architects, we designed and installed innovative galvanized steel planters in Suvilahti – a location chosen by Forum Virium Helsinki for the Pilot Green project.

The purpose of the pilot project was to test a solution for preservation of top soil & microbes on construction sites. Instead of removal and transportation of top soil, with solutions like our “nature station”, the top soil can be kept on the construction site, and used as a landscaping element. After the construction project, the soil can be reused on site, with the original microbes still living.
The piloted “nature station” planters were small (1/2 m3) and mobile, and can be used as landscaping elements, but for large land masses the size would be considerably larger.

Pilot Green is an initiative focused on enhancing urban areas with sustainable and eco-friendly projects. It represents a significant step towards integrating sustainable green diversity into urban environments, such as in this case by repurposing soil in innovative ways.
Suvilahti is evolving from an industrial area into a vibrant, modern hub with offices, restaurants, residential buildings, and artistic and festival spaces. Our industrial style planters suit the Suvilahti vibe, adding green spaces that enhance the area’s aesthetic and ecological value. We are excited to contribute to Suvilahti’s development with our creativity and craftsmanship.
