Timeless seating for Finland’s famous waterfront
Yyteri, with its endless sand dunes and sweeping sea views, is one of Finland’s most famous beach destinations. Across this vast area, our NAANTALI collection now provides places to pause, enjoy the scenery, and take in the unique atmosphere of the coast.
Our furniture has been installed in two distinct locations along Yyteri’s shoreline:
– On the so-called surf beach, NAANTALI benches follow the curves of a wooden trail, creating spots to rest while moving through the dunes.
– On the main beach, square benches form part of a shared terrace that serves nearby restaurants, offering seating that feels both informal and carefully considered.
Although these installations were delivered through separate projects, each one contributes to making its own corner of Yyteri more inviting and functional.
The NAANTALI collection, originally designed for the Naantali Housing Fair, adapts easily to its surroundings through a variety of material and finish options. For Yyteri, corten steel frames and larch wood were chosen – materials that blend naturally with the coastal landscape and withstand the demanding conditions of a seaside location, from shifting weather to the salty, moist breeze. Over time, they develop a beautiful patina while maintaining their strength and durability.
