War Reparations pier, Lappeenranta

At the northern edge of Kaupunginlahti Bay in Lappeenranta, the War Reparations Pier (Sotakorvauslaituri) has become a place where history meets everyday life. Between 1945 and 1953, the pier served as one of the locations from which Finland delivered war reparations to the Soviet Union. Today, the waterfront welcomes visitors with lovely views across the bay.

Overlooking the water, several NAANTALI loungers now offer visitors a comfortable place to relax and take in the view. Finished with bright yellow and orange steel frames, they introduce a cheerful splash of colour that contrasts beautifully with the water and surrounding landscape, bringing a relaxed, almost holiday-like atmosphere to the historic setting.

Designed originally for the Naantali Housing Fair, the NAANTALI collection combines robust wooden beams with clean-lined steel frames to create furniture that is both durable and modern. The collection has a distinctive character that feels equally at home in urban environments, parks and natural settings, while its sturdy construction ensures years of reliable use with minimal maintenance.

There is, however, something about the waterfront that suits NAANTALI particularly well. The generous proportions of the loungers invite people to lean back, enjoy the view and spend time outdoors, while the warm timber and colourful steel frames create an atmosphere that is both contemporary and relaxed.
