AITTA collection at Lagstad school

​Seating that connects to nature

For Lagstad School in Espoo, we delivered square AITTA benches that surround and protect young trees in the schoolyard. This installation is a great example of how outdoor furniture can do more than provide comfortable seating – it can also support greenery and create a stronger connection to nature.

The trees at the centre are still young, carefully shielded by wooden tree guards, but in time they will grow tall and provide shade, making the benches even more inviting for students during their outdoor breaks.

The AITTA collection is especially suited for this type of project. Crafted from massive logs, its clean design and modular structure adapt easily to different layouts – whether as single benches, table groups, or tree-encircling arrangements like here in Espoo. Available in freshly cut or recycled timber, AITTA offers strength, durability, and a sustainable approach to outdoor furniture.

At Lagstad, these benches became part of a living schoolyard, growing and changing together with the trees – and the students who use them.
